BRASS AND SEMI-PRECIOUS STONE EARRINGS

The Maasai inspired necklace proved an ergonomic challenge. Not to worry though, in the last two weeks I have been experimenting with a new technique to make my own version of those large statement earrings girls are wearing.

I figured out a way to have two rows of beads on a 18 gauge brass wire, with fun semi-precious beads like turquoise, red and brown coral, green malachite (from DR Congo, hopefully it's sustainably mined) and some freshwater pearls my mom had removed off a hot floral jacket she bought a few years back (glad I kept them).

These will be debuting in June 2011. May be I will have a couple on offer online in May.

A TOY FACTORY ... WHO WOULD HAVE KNOWN?

I reconnected with an awesome craft maker with great cutting equipment and fantastic rates this month.
This will see awesome embellishments for the new range of leather clutches coming out in May/April.
This guy has a tiny toy factory that makes brilliant wooden toys, wooden Christmas tree deco and now a range of wooden plaques with bible verses in relief (the first of their kind on the local market). I suggested he make the wooden bible verse plaques in Kiswahili and venture into the TZ market…
He will be cutting the first stage of the new bag embellishment. Really thrilled!!!
